MNJTF Force Commander Visits Frontline Troops

In a significant show of support, the Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Ibrahim Ali, conducted an operational visit to Mallam Fatori.

During his visit, he praised the troops of Sector 3 for their exceptional bravery and resilience following their successful defense against a fierce Boko Haram attack.

General Ali commended the troops for their performance, emphasizing the heavy casualties inflicted on the terrorists during the encounter. He encouraged them to continue demonstrating the same level of courage and determination in future operations, while cautioning against complacency.

“The bravery and resilience you’ve shown in the face of adversity is truly commendable,” General Ali stated. “But we must not become complacent. The same focus and discipline must be maintained at all times.”

The Force Commander also stressed the importance of discipline and teamwork, describing them as the foundation of military success. “Discipline ensures that orders are followed and that we operate as a unified force,” he said. He further acknowledged the operational and logistical challenges the troops face and assured them that steps are being taken to enhance their capabilities. This includes the procurement of advanced military hardware and technology to improve intelligence and counter-terrorism operations in the Lake Chad Region.

The visit followed a successful counterattack by MNJTF troops in Mallam Fatori on September 21, 2024, which resulted in significant casualties among Boko Haram fighters. The Force Commander’s visit was both a commendation and a reaffirmation of the MNJTF leadership’s commitment to supporting and equipping the troops in the fight against terrorism.
