Moghalu Misses Out On ADC Presidential Ticket

One of Nigeria’s third force biggest pushers, Kingsley Moghalu has lost the Presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Moghalu lost the ticket to Kachikwu Dumebi, a media entrepreneur and owner of Roots TV in an election held in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

A former Deputy Governor of Nigeria’s Central Bank and Presidential candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP), Moghalu polled 589 votes to Kachikwu’s 977 votes. Chukwuka Monye polled 339 votes.

Kachikwu is the younger brother of Nigeria’s former Minister of Petroleum.

He will face other Presidential candidates from the ruling APC, PDP, Labour Party, NNPP and PRP.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu won the APC Presidential primary election on Tuesday, with Atiku Abubakar already bagging the PDP’s ticket. Peter Obi is the candidate of a factional Labour Party while Rabiu Kwankwaso also emerged candidate of the NNPP yesterday. The son of MKO Abiola, the June 12, 1993 election hero, Kola Abiola is the Presidential candidate of the PRP.
