The late Afrobeats musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, who passed away at the age of 27 two weeks ago, was remembered by the House of Representatives on Tuesday with a minute of silence.
When the plenary in Abuja resumed, the lower chamber paid the homage at the start of an executive session.
The House further decided to keep an eye on the investigation into his death and the royalties due to him after Babajimi Benson, a member representing the Ikorodu Federal Constituency, made a motion of urgent concern.
Benson expressed concern about the contracts and agreements that entertainers are required to sign and urged for a review of pertinent laws governing the entertainment sector, including copyright laws.
Meanwhile, according to Pastor Tunde Bakare, the General Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, the popular late musician Mohbad pitched his tent among evil people throughout his lifetime.
The pastor claimed that Mohbad was too busy “drinking and smoking” and “reaped the reward of his unpleasant lifestyle while alive” to realise that his time on earth would be short.
