Morocco and Huawei Join Forces to Boost Gaming Start-Ups

Morocco’s Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, in partnership with Huawei Morocco, launched the nation’s first Gaming Startups Meeting Day in Salé. The initiative aims to elevate Morocco’s gaming industry and technological development.

Speaking at the event, Culture Minister Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid highlighted Morocco’s ambition to become a key player in technology. “The gaming industry is a promising sector for young Moroccans,” Bensaid remarked, pointing to the potential for growth in underutilised fields.

During the meeting, the Ministry signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Morocco, pledging support for local gaming start-ups.

The MoU focuses on developing skills in AI, cloud computing, and big data. Huawei’s Chief Brand Officer, Nabil Ouchagour, emphasised Huawei’s commitment to supporting Morocco’s national gaming strategy by bolstering infrastructure for Moroccan start-ups in this sector.
