Morocco’s Ministry of Health has expanded the national vaccination campaign to cover citizens and residents aged 50 to 55.
The Ministry called on all citizens of the targeted categories to continue to join this large-scale national project to achieve herd immunity.
It also stressed the need to continue to respect the preventive measures before, during, and after receiving the vaccine to help contain the spread of the pandemic, particularly after new virus variants were detected in Morocco.
The Ministry says up to 5,473,809 people have been vaccinated since launching the campaign. and up to 4,390,752 have already received the 2nd dose.
Meanwhile, the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC) announced on Friday a new set of procedures for Moroccans who are stranded abroad.
Passengers will have to present a number of documents at check-in for flights and test negative for COVID-19 tests taken within 48 hours before attending the flight.
