Morocco, Guinea Book CHAN Semi-final Tickets

Morocco moved a step closer to their CHAN title defense after defeating Chipolopolo of Zambia 3-1 in a quarterfinal fixture.

Soufiane Rahimi got the opener for Moroccans in what’s his third goal of the tournament.

Before the Zambians found a reaction, Mohammed Bemammer added the second, and Ayoub El Kaabi put the game beyond the Zambians in the first half.

After 45 minutes, the Atlas Lions had predated upon their opponents from Southern Africa and only consolidated on the lead in the second half.

Zambia pulled one back through Moses Phiri to reduce the deficit but it was too little too late as the Moroccans ran out 3-1 victors.

In the second quarterfinal clash of the day, Guinea defeated the Amavubi of Rwanda 1-0 despite playing with 10 men for lengthy spells.

Morlaye Sylla scored a sublime free kick and the only goal of the game in the first half to condemn Rwanda to a quarterfinal exit.

The last four teams to slug it out for places in the final are hosts, Cameroon, Mali, Guinea and Morocco.

Morocco are the defending champions and one of the best sides in the continent.
