Morocco responded with drone strikes after the Polisario Front fired shells toward the Al-Mahbes municipality on Saturday, reportedly killing several members of the group.
Local sources report varying casualty numbers, with some accounts suggesting five dead, others citing three, and one source claiming three Algerian officers were among those killed.
The initial shelling from the Polisario Front struck a parking lot near an Al-Mahbes celebration, causing brief alarm but no injuries. Following the attack, Moroccan drones reportedly targeted two vehicles carrying Polisario personnel, with all occupants reportedly killed while attempting to flee the area.
Moroccan authorities have not issued an official statement on the incident.
