Morocco Stun Portugal, Heads to World Cup Semis

Morocco have qualified for the semi-finals of a world cup for the first time after beating Portugal 1-0 in a quarter-final encounter on Saturday.

Morocco emerged the first African nation to reach the semi-finals of the World Cup as Youssef En-Nesyri’s first-half winner shocked the living daylight out of the Portugal side.

Striker En-Nesyri profited on a mistake from Portugal goalkeeper Diogo Costa to head home the historic strike.

Youssef En-Nesyri broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute and the African team held tightly up until the final whistle.

Walid Cheddira was sent off for Morocco after two quickfire yellow cards. It however didn’t stop the North African lions from pushing on, in making history.
