Morocco’s Bouchra Hajij Elected President Of African Volleyball Confederation

Morocco’s Bouchra Hajij has been elected president of the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB).

Hajij, who is the president of the Royal Moroccan Volleyball Federation, will serve for a four-year term: 2020-2024.

Hajij won the election, which held during the general assembly held Sunday evening via videoconference, after obtaining 42 votes out of 54 national federations, against 12 votes for his Egyptian rival Amr El Wani, president of the CAVB since 2001.

Meanwhile, veteran sports administrator Fredrick Ndlovu has been elected vice president for the African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) Zone VI.

Ndlovu, who is a former Matabeleland Volleyball Association chairperson was elected at the CAVB congress.

Ndlovu amassed 37 votes compared to South Africa’s Sundrasagren Reddy who attained 11 votes.

Ndlovu carries with him a wealth of experience which ranges from being president of the zone, secretary general and also Zimbabwe Volleyball Association (ZVA) president.
