The Police Service Commission (PSC) has approved the appointment of Olohundare Moshood Jimoh as the new Commissioner of Police for Lagos State.
This was disclosed in a statement by Head of Press and Public Relations, Ikechukwu Ani today, Monday, February 17, 2025.
Before his latest appointment, CP Jimoh was in charge of the Ports Authority, Eastern Ports. Over the years, he has served in various capacities within the police force, including as Force Public Relations Officer, Deputy Commissioner at the Airport Police Command, Deputy Commissioner for Finance and Administration, and Deputy Commissioner for General Investigation.

Originally from Kwara State, CP Jimoh has attended numerous professional training programmes both in Nigeria and abroad. His training includes courses in combat operations at the Mobile Training College in Maiduguri, participation in the African Union Mission in Darfur, Sudan, and specialised counter-terrorism training on weapons of mass destruction in the United States.
He also trained in China on social construction and management reform at the China Executive Leadership Academy, as well as maritime rescue at the China Maritime Academy in Ningbo. Other international training includes anti-hijacking tactics at Yunnan Police College, China, and police training in Seoul, South Korea.
CP Jimoh has been recognised for his contributions to public relations and was honoured with the Presidential Award for Public Relations Personality of the Year by the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
He appeared before the PSC today, with the commission’s chairman, retired DIG Hashimu Argungu, retired Supreme Court Justice Adamu Paul Galmuje, and DIG Taiwo Lakanu in attendance.
