Multichoice Removes TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV From DStv

Multichoice Removes TB Joshua’s Emmanuel TV From DStv Reportedly Over BBC Documentary

Multichoice, the South African satellite television company that operates DStv in Sub-Saharan Africa, has issued a notice to viewers, instructing them to cease broadcasting the religious network, Emmanuel TV, which broadcasts the religious activities associated with the late founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Prophet TB Joshua.

This decision by Multichoice comes in the wake of a controversial documentary by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) that raised allegations of torture and rape against TB Joshua. The removal of the TV station from DStv is effective from January 17, 2024, according to the notification issued by Multichoice.

The notice on DStv reads, “Dear viewer, please note that Emmanuel TV will exit on the 17th of January 2024. Thank you for watching.”

In addition to the departure from Multichoice, it has been reported that Emmanuel TV will also cease to be available on StarSat and various other pay-TV platforms.
