Intense clash between fighters of ISWAP and the Bakoura Buduma faction of Boko Haram have resulted in multiple casualties on both sides of the warring factions.
News Central gathered that the clash occurred earlier this week at Toumboun Bazarkowo Island in Lake Chad.
The battle between the two terrorist groups led to the death of several Boko Haram fighters and many injured. The surviving Boko Haram insurgents fled to the Kanama axis of Lake Chad.
In December 2021, both insurgent groups engaged themselves in a gun dwell at Lake Chad, leading to the death of dozens.
On October 30, the Bakoura-led Boko Haram fighters from Chad and Niger Republic infiltrated Lake Chad. The heavily armed assailants stormed Loko Lybie village in Lake Chad in about 30 canoes.
It is believed that their arrival at the Lake Chad Basin is connected with the ongoing supremacy battle between the Bakoura-led Buduma fighters and ISWAP. The two insurgent groups equally clashed in September 2021, around the same region, leaving scores dead.
