The Job Creation and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Secretariat, under Nigeria’s Office of the Vice President, has appointed music star Innocent “Tuface” Idibia as its Brand Ambassador. The agreement was signed in Abuja, with Senior Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation, Mr. Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, signing on behalf of the office, while Tuface signed for himself.
Adekunle-Johnson expressed confidence in Tuface’s influence, saying the partnership will drive support for MSMEs and encourage participation in national initiatives like the Expanded National MSMEs Clinics and Shared Hubs for MSMEs.
“With the President Bola Tinubu’s administration slogan of trying to support small businesses and create jobs, we thought of how best we can sustain the momentum of creating jobs and promoting all the activities of the MSMEs, awards, hubs, and the single digit loan,” he said, highlighting Tuface’s appeal within the entertainment industry.
“This partnership with Tuface will help galvanize private sector support for public sector initiatives aimed at creating jobs and supporting businesses,” he added.
In response, Tuface commended the government for prioritising youth and small business support and pledged to raise awareness about MSMEs nationwide. He stated that the initiative is a good move in the right direction, noting the positive impact it could have on communities and the economy.
