Elon Musk declared on social media on Sunday that the anticipated fight between him and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg would be broadcast live on social media network X, formerly known as Twitter.

Since June, the leaders of social media and technology have been encouraging a mixed martial arts cage match in Las Vegas.

The Musk vs. Zuck fight will be broadcast live on X. Musk stated in a post on X early on Sunday morning, without providing any additional information, that “all proceeds will go to charity for veterans.

Late Sunday, Zuckerberg responded on his social media platform Threads, saying: “I am ready today.  When he first challenged me, I suggested August 26, but he has not confirmed it. Not holding my breath.”

Additionally, he advised using a more “reliable platform” that could help them raise money for a good cause.

Musk had earlier on Sunday claimed on X that he was “lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight,” and that he brought the weights to work because he did not have time to work out.

Musk responded, “It is a civilised form of war,” when a user on X questioned the purpose of the conflict. Men love war”.

The controversy started when Musk wrote in a post on June 20 that he was “up for a cage match” with Zuckerberg, who has jiu-jitsu training.

A day later, Musk, 52, responded with “Vegas Octagon,” referring to an arena where mixed martial arts (MMA) championship fights are held when asked to “send location” for the proposed throwdown by Zuckerberg, 39, who had previously shared images of victories on his company’s Instagram platform.

Musk then declared that if the cage fight materialised, he would begin training.
