Naby Keita’s strike gives Liverpool first leg advantage at Anfield

Guinea international, Naby Keita scored a crucial goal to set the tone for Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over FC Porto in a UEFA Champions league quarter final first leg at Anfield. Keita scored his first goal for Liverpool in a Premier League match against Southampton on Friday.

The midfielder opened the scoring on only his third start in five Champions league matches with a neat finish before Brazilian teammate Roberto Firmino doubling the lead.

Egypt’s Mohamed Salah missed a good chance in the game while Senegal’s Sadio Mane put the ball in the back of the Porto net only to be adjudged offside. Porto’s Malian striker Moussa Marega kept the Liverpool backline on their toes with a hardworking and physical performance but was limited to half chances. Liverpool now head to Portugal for the second leg on 17 April as huge favourites to reach the semi-finals for the second-successive year.
