Spaniards Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz will team up to play as doubles partners at next month’s Olympic Games in Paris in the much anticipated tag-team.

Spain’s national team coach, David Ferrer announced on Tuesday, “Rafa and Carlos will be playing together in Paris.”

The Games will begin on July 26 with the tennis events starting a day later.

While Nadal won an Olympic gold in Beijing in 2008, Alcaraz will be making his Games debut and the younger Spaniard will be hoping to win gold at the venue of his recent triumph in Paris – Roland Garros.

Nadal, 38, is a 22-time major winner, with a record 14 championships coming at Roland Garros and he’ll certainly feel he can win another gold as he begins to switch out the lights to his sparkling career.

His participation at the Games was uncertain after a series of injury setbacks this year, but he returned to action for the clay court season in April.
