The airstrike on Boko Haram terrorists’ hideouts in Kolleram village near Lake Chad by the Air component of Operation Hadin Kai resulted in the death of over 30 fighters.
AVM Edward Gabkwet, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force stated that the airstrikes delivered on April 13 dealt a significant blow to terrorism in the North-East region. Senior commanders such as Ali Dawud, Bakura Fallujah, and Mallam Ari were among those killed in the operation.
Additionally, logistical assets were destroyed, halting terrorist operations, and a hidden facility used for food processing was eliminated.
This operation demonstrates a commitment to combating terrorism and ensuring the safety of Nigerians. Gabkwet noted that neutralising key terrorist figures and disrupting logistical support has weakened the capacity of the ISWAP group.
