The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated unregistered food products valued at over ₦3.8 billion during a raid on a warehouse in the Apongbon Oke Arin Market, Lagos.
The operation, carried out by NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, was prompted by a tip-off regarding the sale of unregistered items at the facility.
Products worth ₦3,818,802,720 were seized, and the warehouse has been sealed off pending further investigation.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, NAFDAC said, “The warehouse management has been summoned for questioning, and appropriate sanctions will be imposed following the conclusion of investigations.
“We reaffirm our commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.”
The agency also called on Nigerians to remain alert during the festive season and to report any suspicious activities to the nearest NAFDAC office.
