Controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky, whose real name is Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, pleaded guilty to one of the charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Friday.
Bobrisky appeared before Justice Abimbola Awogboro at a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Initially facing six charges, Bobrisky had two charges dropped during discussions between the parties.
He pleaded guilty to the charge involving tampering with N400,000 by spraying it during a social event at IMAX Circle Mall in Lekki, Lagos, on March 24, 2024.
This action violates Section 21(1) of the Central Bank Act 2007.
The remaining charges include tampering with sums of N50,000 and N20,000 at different events, as well as failure to submit declarations of his company’s activities related to transactions totaling N180.7 million.
These charges are related to money laundering and breach of financial regulations.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro postponed the judgment for until April 9, 2024.
The judge also ruled that Bobrisky should be returned to the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) until the judgment date.
