The naira posted its first gain of the week against the dollar in the parallel foreign exchange market on Tuesday.
A Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, Idris Yunusa, confirmed that the naira appreciated to N1,580 per dollar, improving from N1,585 on Monday—marking a N5 gain in a single day.

However, the naira weakened at the official market. According to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s exchange data, it depreciated to N1,532.93 per dollar on Tuesday, down from N1,528.03 the previous day—representing a N4.90 loss.
On Monday, the naira had initially declined despite a reported drop in Nigeria’s inflation rate.
