Four young children tragically lost their lives in northeastern Namibia after getting trapped in an abandoned freezer while playing hide and seek, as reported by the police on Tuesday.
According to Zambezi regional police commander Andreas Shilelo, the children, aged between three and six, entered the freezer on Monday and were unable to open it from the inside. They remained stuck for approximately an hour and a half, leading to suffocation.
Shilelo explained that two of the children passed away inside the freezer while the other two were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital,” the provincial police chief said.
