Napoli Extend Serie A Lead with Dominant Win at AC Milan

Napoli stretched their lead at the top of Serie A to seven points with a 2-0 victory over AC Milan on Tuesday. An early goal from Romelu Lukaku and a spectacular strike by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia sealed the win by halftime for Antonio Conte’s side.

Napoli now sits on 25 points, ahead of Inter Milan, who can narrow the gap to four points if they beat Empoli on Wednesday. The defeat drops AC Milan to eighth place, trailing the leaders by 11 points.

Lukaku opened the scoring just five minutes in, latching onto a Frank Anguissa pass before outmuscling a defender to slot past Milan’s goalkeeper Mike Maignan. Kvaratskhelia doubled the lead before halftime, cutting in from the left to unleash a powerful right-footed strike.

In the second half, Alvaro Morata’s potential lifeline goal for Milan was disallowed for offside after a VAR review, while Napoli’s goalkeeper Alex Meret made a crucial save late on to deny Rafael Leao.

Elsewhere, Bologna beat Cagliari 2-0 to climb to 10th place, and Lecce edged nine-man Verona 1-0, with Patrick Dorgu scoring the winner.
