Four children abducted in Millennium City, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been freed and reunited with their families. The National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, formally handed the children over to Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani.
Governor Sani, in announcing the development, praised the critical efforts of the Kaduna Peace Dialogue Group in securing the children’s release.
The group, a collaborative initiative between the Kaduna State Government and the Office of the National Security Adviser, employed strategic negotiations and confidence-building measures to achieve the breakthrough.
“We were deliberate and strategic in handling the negotiations, focusing on overcoming trust deficits that have undermined previous peace efforts,” Governor Sani stated. He credited the success in Birnin Gwari as a foundation for broader peace initiatives, adding, “The Kaduna Peace Model is up and running, and we hope it will be replicated across the North West and beyond.”
