Basketball star Kevin Durant has acquired minority ownership in Paris Saint-Germain, as the European champions announced on Friday. The club did not disclose the number of shares bought by the power forward.
In a statement, the club revealed that Qatar Sports Investment (QSI) ‘s owners had “entered into an investment and strategic partnership agreement with Kevin Durant, one of the most celebrated US basketball players in history and a prominent investor in sports and entertainment ventures.”
It was noted that Durant would purchase the stake “through his media and investment entity Boardroom.”
The club said that QSI would collaborate with Boardroom “on a variety of commercial, investment, and content projects,” which would include merchandise, media content, strategies both in the US and internationally, and “potential Basketball/Multi-Sport expansion.”

“With Kevin, we look forward to developing ambitious initiatives that will drive the continued global growth of Paris Saint-Germain and QSI,” said Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Chairman of QSI.
Durant, 36, plays power forward for the Phoenix Suns. He captured two NBA championships with the Golden State Warriors and holds four Olympic gold medals, the most recent one from the 2024 Paris Games.
In the PSG statement, he remarked that PSG and Paris represent “a club and a city that are very dear to my heart. This club has significant plans for the future, and I am eager to contribute to the next phase of its development.”
