Wilfred Ndidi will play in Leicester City’s Premier League game against Manchester City, manager Brendan Rodgers said.
During the September international break, the 25-year-old Nigeria international suffered a hamstring injury while playing for the Super Eagles in a friendly against Algeria.
He was freed from camp and returned to Leicester, where he started against Nottingham Forest in a 4-0 victory on October 3. Ndidi, on the other hand, aggravated his hamstring during the game and was thus ruled out for an indefinite duration.
The injury kept him out of four consecutive league games, including a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth, a 0-0 tie with Crystal Palace, a 2-0 win over Leeds United, and a 4-0 thrashing of Wolverhampton Wanderers. Ndidi will now be in contention to face Manchester City at King Power Stadium on Saturday, according to Rodgers.
“Wilfred Ndidi has been back training with the squad. The most important thing is he’s back training in the squad and he’s looked fine with the players,” Rodgers told Leicester’s website.
“Availability is the important thing and thankfully he’s available. Marc Albrighton was obviously back last weekend. We’re all fine.”
The midfielder has made eight league appearances this season, whereas he played in 19 top-flight matches last season.
