The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has intercepted a shipment of cannabis, also known as “Loud,” concealed in a duvet and destined for the United Kingdom.
In a statement on Sunday, NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi revealed that the consignment was seized at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Tuesday. Two suspects, Adakole Sunday and Austin Balogun, were arrested in connection with the 3.50kg parcel.
Balogun, the alleged mastermind, admitted to being paid ₦700,000 to arrange the shipment.
In related operations, NDLEA conducted raids in Lagos, seizing 47kg of skunk, 25.46kg of laughing gas, and recovering weapons in Ikorodu and Mushin.
Additionally, arrests were made in Ekiti and Kwara states, where suspects were caught with drugs including 1.95kg of Canadian Loud and 50,000 tramadol pills.
