The senator for Borno South, Ali Ndume, said on Tuesday that he is confident that the supply of additional attack helicopters will help to lessen the Boko Haram insurgency that is wreaking havoc in the Northeast.
Ndume made this claim in an interview on Politics Today on Channels Television.
Although he advocated for increased military spending, he claimed that the Nigerian Army was capable of suppressing terrorist operations.
The senator listed low morale and insufficient equipment as some of the issues reducing the nation’s ability to combat terrorism.
He claimed that the typical soldier’s daily stipend in the theatre of operations is N1,500.
