NECO Introduces Digital Recruitment for Examination Supervisors

NECO Introduces Digital Recruitment for Examination Supervisors

Nigeria’s National Examinations Council (NECO) has transitioned to a digitalised recruitment process for Examination Supervisors and Assistant Supervisors for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and the Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) Internal and External.

Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication at NECO, stated in a press release that the digitisation aims to curb malpractices in the recruitment process and enhance efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.

Sani explained that digitalisation involves shifting from manual recruitment methods to an online system. It is said that this shift will ensure that the nomination forms for supervisors, appointment letters, and supervisors’ e-photo albums are all generated online. Additionally, the process of swapping supervisors and assistant supervisors during examinations will also be conducted online.

He further clarified that qualified teachers with NCE, degree certificates, master’s degrees, PhDs, and professors can apply as supervisors and assistant supervisors for BECE or SSCE, whether internal or external.

Before the introduction of the digitalised system, NECO conducted the recruitment of supervisors and assistant supervisors manually.
