NELFUND: Number of Institutions Onboard Rises From 36 to 48

Twelve additional tertiary institutions owned by state governments have been added to the NELFUND student loan application system, raising the total number from 36 to 48.

The Nigerian Education Loan Fund’s management confirmed this in a statement signed by Nasir Ayitogo, its Head of Media and Public Relations, on Wednesday.

According to him, onboarding occurred when the data was successfully submitted and verified for completeness.

“With this latest addition, the total number of participating state government-owned tertiary institutions has now increased from the initial 36 announced earlier to 48. Students’ data from 121 institutions is outstanding,” the statement read.

NELFUND urged all institutions that have not yet submitted their students’ data to the Student Verification Portal to do so promptly. This action will enable their students to benefit from the scheme.

Additionally, NELFUND urged states whose data has been captured and successfully uploaded to promptly inform their students to apply. This initiative aims to provide financial relief to struggling students and ensure guaranteed revenue for the institutions.
