The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has delivered essential relief materials to assist individuals affected by the recent attacks on communities in Bokkos and Barkin Ladi local government areas of Plateau State. This intervention aligns with its commitment to timely support in disaster and emergency situations, aiming to save lives.
In a statement by Ezekiel Manzo, NEMA’s Head of Press, it was mentioned that the Head Office, in collaboration with the North Central Zonal Office, has been working with stakeholders and the Plateau State Emergency Management Agency to provide essential support to those displaced and undergoing treatment in various hospitals.
The relief materials include bags of rice, beans, garri, cartons of powdered milk, tomato paste, and seasoning cubes. Non-food items such as bags of iodized salts, kegs of vegetable oil, palm oil, cartons of detergent, toilet soap, mosquito nets, blankets, foam mattresses, nylon mats, plastic buckets, cups, and building materials for VIP toilets have also been provided.
The distribution of these relief items is being personally supervised by Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang to ensure fairness and equity among the displaced persons.
