Neymar Back in Training with Al-Hilal After Knee Injury

Brazilian football star Neymar has returned to training with his Saudi club, Al-Hilal, nearly a year after suffering a serious knee injury.

The 32-year-old, who joined Al-Hilal from Paris Saint-Germain in August 2023, played only five matches before injuring his meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament while on international duty in October.

Neymar resumed individual training in July after undergoing surgery, and his return to competitive action will depend on his technical readiness and the decision of the club’s coach, Jorge Jesus.

An Al-Hilal official confirmed that Neymar is yet to be registered for the current Saudi Pro League season, which began in August, though he is listed for the AFC Champions League.

Despite Neymar’s absence, Al-Hilal has enjoyed significant success, winning the Saudi league title unbeaten and setting a record with 34 consecutive victories across all competitions.

The forward’s return to group training offers hope for the Brazil national team, which has struggled since their elimination in the 2022 World Cup.

Brazil coach Dorival Júnior has urged patience regarding Neymar’s recovery, stating that his full return will depend on his confidence and fitness.

Neymar is currently not included in Brazil’s squad for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
