The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the reappointment of Christopher Danjuma (Chris Danjuma) as the Head Coach of the U-20 Women’s National Team, the Falconets. This decision comes after a thorough screening and interview process conducted by the NFF’s Technical Committee.
The recommendation made by the committee has been officially approved by the NFF Executive Committee, as stated in a release issued on Wednesday. Chris Danjuma previously led the Falconets to the quarterfinals of the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica.
Assisting Danjuma in his coaching role will be Mansur Abdullahi, a former U-20 and U-17 girls’ assistant coach, and Effioanwan Ekpo, a former Super Falcons midfielder.
The Falconets are set to kick off their qualifying campaign for the 2024 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup with a second-round first-leg match against Mauritius in Saint Pierre on October 8th, 2023. The return leg is scheduled to take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on October 14th, 2023.
