The Kwara State chapter of the National Female Students Association of Nigeria (NFSAN) held an educational outreach earlier today, distributing learning materials to young girls at Government Girls Day School, Pakata.
During the event, NFSAN provided over 1,000 learning materials, including notebooks, mathematical sets, pens, and backpacks, to support students facing academic challenges due to a lack of resources.
Chairperson of NFSAN Kwara, Comrade Buraimoh Abiola Temitope, highlighted the importance of the initiative, noting that it was aimed at helping girls overcome barriers to education. “We recognise the economic challenges affecting your families, but we want you to know you are not alone. Our goal is for every girl in Kwara to thrive academically,” she said, urging the students to stay focused on their studies.
Emphasising the value of education, she added, “Every girl deserves quality education to realise her dreams.”
Comrade Abisoye Sidiqat Taiwo, NFSAN Kwara’s Public Relations Officer, addressed the importance of personal hygiene, encouraging the girls to prioritise cleanliness. Comrade Abdulrofiu Khadijat, the association’s Welfare Director, reinforced this message, stating, “Health is key to achieving your goals. Staying healthy helps you pursue your ambitions to become leaders of this nation.”
The school’s Vice Principal expressed gratitude for the outreach, commending NFSAN Kwara for their thoughtful gesture and offering prayers for the association’s leadership. The students also voiced their appreciation, with the head girl delivering a thank-you speech.
Other NFSAN Kwara executives in attendance included Comrade Oladimeji Ruth, Director of Administration and Planning; Comrade Olawumi Basirat, Director of Primary and Secondary School Students; Comrade Onikoko Baliqees, Director of Anti-Social Vices; and Comrade Coker Odunayo, Director of Programmes.
