Nigerian Exchange Ltd., (NGX) closed Tuesday at N25.59 trillion, an increase of 0.19 per cent in the market capitalization of equities listed on the exchange.
The NGX All-Share Index also rose 0.19 per cent to close the day’s trading at 47,482.73 basis points, up from 47.394.53 on Monday.
The market capitalization increased to N25.59 trillion from N25.54 trillion on Monday, giving investors a gain of N47.53 billion.
Gains were recorded in medium and large capitalised stocks, including SEPLAT, MTNN, Zenith Bank, Dangote Cement and Guaranty Trust Bank Holding Company (GTco).
The market sentiment was positive as 15 stocks appreciated in price while 31 declined.
The highest gainer was SEPLAT Plc, which gained N85.9, or 9.99 per cent, to close at N945.80, followed by Royal Exchange, which gained 13k, or 9.49 per cent, to close at N1.50 per share.
Courtville Business Solutions Plc rose 0.05, or 9.09 per cent, to close at 60k per share.
At 23k per share, Veritas Kapital Assurance Plc appreciated one kobo with 4.55 per cent. First City Monument Bank (FCMB) gained 10k, representing 3.23 per cent, to close at N3.20 per share.
Cutix Plc, on the other hand, led the losers’ chart by 10%, gaining 27k to close at N2.43kobo per share, while Learn Africa Plc followed with a decline of 9.96%, dropping 26k to close at N2.35 per share.
At N3.78 per share, GSPEC Plc lost 41k to lose 8.35 per cent, while Caverton Plc lost 15.68 per cent, dropping 15k to close at N1.40 per share.
In addition, R.T Briscoe Plc dropped 9.41 per cent, losing eight kobo to close at 77k per share.
Based on the activity chart, the total volume of trades increased 11.24 per cent to 370.543 million units, valued at N7.853 billion, and exchanged in 6,045 deals.
MTNN (FBNH) topped the volume chart with 22.25 million shares valued at N4.56 billion.
Zenith Bank traded 22.08 million shares worth N624.75 million, while Presco traded 4.11 million shares worth N427.33 million.
Dangote Cement traded 1.43 million shares worth N385.78 million, while GTco traded 7.75 million shares worth N208.75 million.
