Queen of Hip hop, Nicki minaj has made big moves, expanding from her rap icon status to music executive role. The Trinidadian-born rapper broke the news on a recent episode of ‘Queen radio’ that she now has kicked off her record label.

Although the 40 year old superstar didn’t reveal the name of her newly founded record label, she disclosed they have already commenced work. The ‘super freaky girl’ crooner has signed Ghanaian singer Nana Fofie, Jamaican emcee Skeng, Bronx rapper London Hill, and Queens lyricist Rico Danna.

Reports say Nicki enlisted A&R mogul, Wendy Goldstein as the president of her imprint, which is housed under Republic Records. Goldstein is credited for helping to bring Common, Mos Def, and The Roots‘ music to the masses.

Nicki fans were also thrilled to new music this weekend; as the multi platinum rapper dropped her first single of the year ‘Red Ruby Da Sleeze’. With this news, the multi-award winning star and mother becomes the first female artist to own a label.

Recall that Nicki first teased founding a label back in January 2022, and it seems her big dream to give back to the music industry with new voices is here.
