Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), extends her congratulations to Nigeria’s Consul-General in Atlanta, Georgia, Ambassador Amina Smaila, for her commendation by the House of Representatives of the State of Georgia.
This marks the first-ever recognition of an African diplomat in the state’s 247-year history.
In her congratulatory message, Dabiri-Erewa lauds Smaila as an exceptional and distinguished Nigerian diplomat who demonstrates profound concern for her fellow citizens.

While urging Amina Smaila to continue her humanitarian efforts and serve as an inspiration to others, Dabiri-Erewa underscores the uniqueness and historic significance of the recognition bestowed by the Georgia House of Representatives.
In Resolution 647, initiated by Rep. Okoye of the 102nd district, the House acknowledges Amb. Amina Smaila “for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service” and extends sincere wishes for her continued health and happiness.
