Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has presented a ₦1.558 trillion budget proposal for the 2025 fiscal year to the Niger State House of Assembly.
The proposed budget represents a significant 48.32% increase compared to the 2024 appropriation.
Dubbed the “Budget of Hope for Sustainability and Food Security,” the governor highlighted its focus on prioritising investments in agriculture and infrastructure to drive development.
According to the budget breakdown, ₦196.335 billion (13% of the total budget) will be allocated to recurrent expenditure, while an impressive ₦1.362 trillion (87%) is earmarked for capital expenditure.
Governor Bago expressed confidence that the 2025 budget would lay a solid foundation for sustainable growth and food security across Niger State.
