The Governor of Niger State, Umaru Bago, has said that a $2 billion poultry project will be built in the local government area of Bosso.
Bago revealed this to local stakeholders in Maikunkele, the Bosso Local Government Area (LGA) headquarters, as part of his ongoing statewide project monitoring.
He said that the building of the poultry facility is in keeping with the Nigerian government’s livestock development project, which is being piloted by the government of Niger State.
The Governor urged the populace to keep supporting the current administration to maintain its success, listing the many road improvements that are now underway in the Bosso local region.
Assuring them that they would receive full compensation, he notably urged people whose properties are impacted by the road construction to demonstrate empathy and relocate away from the properties to expedite the projects.
In response to the growing population in the LGA, Governor Bago said that a general hospital would be constructed to relieve the strain on the Minna facility and that the Kodo energy problem would be investigated and resolved.
He praised Sani Musa, the Senator from Niger East, for his efforts to protect the interests of his constituents.
The Governor said that 20 members of the council would benefit from the senator’s scholarship to Singapore and that he would build a small stadium and skills-acquisition centre in the Bosso local government area.
He also thanked Yusuf Kure, the representative for the Bosso/Paikoro Federal Constituency, for endorsing his administration’s progress.
The Deputy Governor, Comrade Yakubu Garba, also spoke at the event, urging the residents of Bosso local government to continue supporting the government and reaffirming the Bago-led administration’s commitment to fulfilling their goals.
In his remarks, Niger East Senator Sani Musa praised the governor and emphasised that the Bago administration has prioritised the people of the Bosso local government area, particularly in terms of its agricultural policy, since the Special Agro-industrial Processing Zone, which would create direct and indirect jobs, is located within the Council area.
Yusuf Kure, a member of the Bosso/Paikoro Federal Constituency, stated that he will provide the State government N1 billion to support its initiatives and give farmers fertiliser and other agricultural inputs to increase agricultural output.
In their separate speeches, Ladidi Bawa-Bosso, the Chairman of Bosso LGA, and Abubakar Gomna, a member who represents Bosso in the State Assembly, praised the governor for the people-oriented projects he is carrying out both within and outside of the local government area.
However, they urged him to rehabilitate the Bosso Dam for better water supply, build more roads in the local government, build a feeder road from Garatu to Beji, and appoint two Permanent Secretaries, among other things. They also promised him that the people of Bosso would continue to support his administration.
In appreciation of the Governor’s compassion for the residents of the local government region, Hakimin Bosso Adamu Lakka bestowed upon him the title of Dan Malikin Bosso.
