Nigeria 2023: Kola Abiola Speaks About His Presidential Ambitions

Day five of the presidential town hall series “The Candidates” featured Kola Abiola of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) and his running mate, Haro Haruna Zego.

Abiola and Zego took questions from the host, Kadaria Ahmed, and the studio audience during the two-hour session on November 22, 2022.

When asked why he is running for president, Abiola stated that it will take more than the two largest parties to reform Nigeria. He claims that what distinguishes his party from the others is its emphasis on the people. Party tickets, he claims, are easy to obtain, and godfatherism, unlike in established parties, does not exist.
