Workers in the state public service are exempt from working on Tuesday, January 24, and Wednesday, January 25, to enable them collect their Permanent Voters’ Card, PVC, according to the Ogun State Government.
This is in accordance with a statement made on Sunday in Abeokuta by Kunle Somorin, the governor’s chief press secretary.
It read partly, “Following the extension of the permanent voter cards collection till Sunday, January 29, 2023, by the Independent National Electoral Commission, Governor Abiodun has graciously approved two days – January 24 and 25, 2023, as work-free days to enable public servants to collect their PVC from their respective local governments.”
Additionally, Governor Abiodun urged all executives of public markets and private businesses in the state to provide residents flexibility in their schedules so they may attend INEC offices or collecting centers where they registered to pick up their PVCs.
According to the governor, casting a ballot is a civic duty, and all eligible voters must be let to exercise their right to decide who will represent them in government.
Last week, the Lagos State Government declared a four-day work-free day for all Government workers in the State to enable them collect their PVCs.
