Ahead of Nigeria’s upcoming 2023 presidential elections, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has endorsed the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi, at a town hall meeting organised by the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Makurdi.
Ortom commended Obi’s credentials, character, competence, educational background, and his ability to address insecurity and unite the country.
He urged Nigerians to vote based on individuals rather than party lines and called for a new Nigeria with equity, fairness, and justice.
Ortom directed all members of his cabinet to support Obi in the presidential election.
Meanwhile, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, who leads the G5, a group of PDP governors, has rejected a last-minute deal with the PDP’s Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
Wike had earlier withdrawn from the campaign, along with four other PDP governors, demanding the resignation of Senator Iyioricha Ayu as National Chairman.
Despite their withdrawal, the PDP continued its campaign, excluding them from the presidential campaign council.
