A meeting involving the Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state reportedly held in London.
Tinubu is said to be meeting Wike alongside two Governors on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state.
The Governors, who are close allies of Governor Wike left Nigeria to meet with Tinubu on Monday night.
Details of the meeting are yet to be ascertained, it may not be unconnected with likely alliance of Wike to cede support for Tinubu in the 2023 presidential election.
Wike has maintained a frosty relationship with Abubakar Atiku since his defeat at the PDP Presidential primary in May.
The Governor has been mostly aloof and sometimes resorts to jeering at the Atiku/Okowa team, including the chairman of the party – who he insists must resign, as a precondition for resolving grey areas with PDP’s presidential candidate.
While many report the meeting held in France, an aide to Governor Makinde stated that the meeting happened in London.
