In connection with their alleged involvement in high-level cybercrimes, hacking, and activities endangering national security, the Nigerian government arraigned 130 suspects on Friday, including 113 foreign nationals (87 men and 26 women), primarily from China and Malaysia, and 17 Nigerian collaborators (4 men and 13 women).
The suspects were apprehended during a coordinated raid by the Nigeria Police Force at a building located in the Next Cash and Carry area of Jahi, Abuja.
They were reportedly utilising advanced computers and other devices to conduct their criminal activities.
The operation, carried out on Saturday, 3 November 2024, was led by the Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja, AIG Benneth Igweh. It involved officers from the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Command Abuja and the National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC).
The suspects are set to be arraigned before Justice Ekerete Akpan of the Federal High Court.
