Nigeria: Edo Police Rescue 12 More Passengers Abducted at Igueben Station (News Central TV)

The Edo State Police Command has freed another twelve passengers who were kidnapped at the Igueben train station in the Ughboa bush.

Mohammed Dankwara, the state police commissioner, claimed that the joint forces’ persistent efforts to make sure the victims were reunited with their families unharmed enabled the rescue operation.

He said; “I am pleased to inform you that on Saturday at about 10p.m., the joint security forces in Edo State in a concerted effort to rescue the abducted victims of the Igueben Train Station attack, stormed Ughboa forest in a joint operation, through a technical intelligence provided to the command and control intelligence rapid response squad and rescued 12 victims unhurt.”

Eunice Eseba, 56, Marian Mowoe, 28, Faith Smart, 42, Precious Egwuje, 28, Obehi Omaben, 39, and Amm Benson, 42, are among those who were saved.

Favour Akungo, age 18, Akhimen Ehiemamen, age 48, Christian Iyere, age 33, Emmanuel Esieba, age 67, Iyoha Julius, age 25, and Aguelle Beatrice are the others.

18 of the victims have already been freed as a result of the move, while two additional captives who work for the Nigeria Railway Cooperation are still being detained.
