Gombe State Governor Calls for Enhanced Collaboration Between Federal and State Governments

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has emphasised the need for increased collaboration between the federal and state governments in Nigeria. He believes that if all states work closely with the federal government, the nation can undergo a positive transformation.

The governor made these remarks in Abuja on Thursday after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. During the meeting, Governor Inuwa presented Gombe State’s achievements and scorecard to President Tinubu, showcasing the state’s progress across various sectors.

The documentation covered Gombe State’s activities from 2019 to 2023, providing evidence of the state’s accomplishments in alignment with its manifestos and developmental plans extending to 2030.

Governor Inuwa highlighted the importance of collaboration between the federal and state governments, including local governments, for effective governance. He stressed that economic growth is essential for the country’s overall development, and cooperative efforts are fundamental to achieving this.

Looking ahead to 2024, the governor expressed the commitment of state governments to improve performance and work towards the common goal of making Nigeria a better place.

On the participation of Gombe State in the federal government’s Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones, Governor Inuwa revealed the state’s full preparedness to ensure the success of the initiative. Gombe State has established an industrial park for processing all agricultural produce, aligning with the modernized farming system promoted by the federal government.

The governor emphasised the need for machine tools and processing facilities to achieve the objectives of modernised farming and efficient food production. He underlined Gombe State’s readiness to play its part in contributing to the success of the federal government’s initiatives in agriculture and industrial development.
