Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara has had a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
When questioned by State House correspondents about the purpose of his visit and the discussions held with the President, Fubara maintained that the meeting was of a private nature. “It’s a private visit,” he stated.
Notably, the previous meeting between President Tinubu and the governor included the presence of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, along with other stakeholders from the state. During this gathering, the political discord between Fubara and his political mentor, Wike, was reportedly resolved.
At that time, the Rivers State governor had briefed the President on the progress of implementing the agreement reached to address the political crisis in Rivers and sought President Tinubu’s support.
