The Imo State Police Command has taken into custody a 22-year-old man named Obinna Ugochukwu. He stands accused of fatally stabbing his friend, Nwachukwu Stanley, in a disturbing incident. The suspect hails from Ikeduru LGA within Imo State.
During a press briefing, SP Okoye, the spokesperson for the state police command, revealed that the arrest followed the report of a murder case filed at the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID). Through the meticulous work of the Command’s Forensic Experts, the suspect was identified and detained.
According to Okoye, the investigation brought forth a shocking confession from the suspect. Obinna Ugochukwu admitted to repeatedly stabbing his friend, Nwachukwu Stanley, who also came from Umuoma in Ikeduru L.G.A. This horrendous act occurred while Stanley was asleep, stemming from a misunderstanding regarding the distribution of the illicit gains from a cyber-crime operation, amounting to $3000.
As the investigation unfolds, the victim’s body has been transferred to the morgue, awaiting further examination. Once the inquiry concludes, the suspect will face charges and appear in court to answer for his alleged crime. The Imo State Police Command says it remains dedicated to ensuring justice is served in this distressing case.
