Nigeria Investigates Lufthansa for Suspected Passengers' Mistreatment (News Central TV)

The German airline Lufthansa Airlines is accused of mistreating more than 200 passengers who were travelling to Nigeria, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has launched an inquiry.

According to local media, the airline threatened to contact the police last Friday after the passengers, whose flight was delayed, asked for accommodations for their stay.

According to reports, the aircraft from Frankfurt to Lagos, which was supposed to land at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, was delayed after making a detour to Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, and Cotonou, Benin.

In a notice that it distributed to its customers last Friday, Lufthansa expressed regret for the flight delay. Contrary to what the Lufthansa pilot claimed, the passengers claimed that the Lagos airport was open.

According to Sam Adurogboye, an NCAA public affairs official, the regulator has opened an inquiry into the situation as a result of passenger complaints.
