Governor Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Nigeria’s Kwara State has nominated Miss Musa Nafisat Buge, a former corps member who recently completed the mandatory one-year service, as a Commissioner designate in the state.
In response to the nomination, Mr. Onifade, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) State Coordinator, expressed gratitude on behalf of the Director General of the Scheme, Brigadier General Yisha’u Dogara Ahmed, and the entire NYSC family. He commended the governor for the honour bestowed upon the ex-corps member, describing it as a clear testament to the governor’s passion for youth development.
The State Coordinator highlighted that the Governor’s gesture was evidence that, given the right environment, youths can excel in any capacity, considering the training they undergo during their service year. He praised the governor’s commitment to youth development, stating that it placed his administration above others in similar responsibilities and demonstrated his dedication to the youth.
The NYSC boss congratulated Commissioner-designate Miss Musa Nafisat Buge, noting that she would continue to be a proud ambassador of the scheme. He emphasised her diligent and meritorious service to the nation, contributing to both community and national development.
The nomination, according to the NYSC boss, aligns with the scheme’s objective of preparing youths for leadership positions. He expressed confidence that her nomination would contribute to fulfilling the governor’s agenda and bringing democratic dividends to the people of Kwara State.
Mr. Onifade thanked Governor Abdulrazaq for identifying with the objectives of the NYSC, emphasising the governor’s support for the scheme and the youth, and showcasing a youth-friendly leadership style worthy of emulation.
