Pandemonium struck in the early hours of Monday at Emeyal 2 community of Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State after hoodlums macheted a commercial motorcyclist identified as Goodnews Okrinya.
Okrinya, popularly known as J-Martin, died from the brutal attack as his neck was deeply cut with machetes resulting in his death immediately.
The criminals dumped his lifeless body at Bakery area of Imiringi community and went away with his motorcycle.
The cause of the attack and murder of Okrinya is yet to be established. The incident attracted angry reactions from residents of the area, including Chairman of Ogbia Local Government Area, Dr. Ebinyo Marvin Turner.
Turner described the murder as senseless, barbaric, unacceptable and unbecoming of the area. He urged security operatives to go after the culprits, bring them to justice and stem the ugly trend.
